Journey into the deepest levels of relaxation and rejuvenation under the new moon in Cancer and the bright activation of the Summer Solstice

Temple of the Moon is a Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath experience curated to support you slow down, soften and deeply rest held at Mother of the Woods Retreat, Co Down.

Combining a full body guided meditation guided by Senior Tantra Yoga Teacher and Yoga Nidra Expert Emma Rose Lowe and the most ethereal soundscape of song, gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls, flutes and healing instruments from around the world by registered Sound Therapist and musician Ciara Jackson from Sound UnEarthed, you will be transported into the therapeutic benefits and spontaneous healing of sound and dreamtime states of consciousness.

Held under the new moon in Cancer - this lunation is a call to come home to yourself and an invitation to centred this next lunar cycle around the places and people you feel at home.  It is a moon of belonging, calling you keep your heart open and find strength in vulnerability. It encourages you to focus on creating a safe and secure environment, whether physically or emotionally - not from fear but from a centred place deep within you that is rooted in love.

This period is ideal for setting intentions related to personal growth, relationships, and emotional stability, as the moon's energy aligns with the nurturing and receptive nature of Cancer.

As we enter the bright shining of the Summer Solstice in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, we will connect the energies of the natural world so that you leave feeling not just incredibly nourished but infused and inspired by the magic and myth of the season to come.

Deeply rooted in ancient wisdom and the healing arts, Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing have been practiced for thousands of year as effective tools for holistic healing and transformation. The origins of Yoga Nidra are found in the tantric practices of India and Sound Healing has been employed by cultures from all around the world, including ancient Egyptians, Tibetans, and native tribes of America. By harnessing the power of deep relaxation and sound vibrations, the body and mind enter a peaceful state of being that fosters deep healing and overall well-being.

Yoga Nidra, derived from the Sanskrit words “yoga”, meaning union and “nidra”, meaning sleep. It is a unique and very specialised practice that encourages a state of conscious relaxation. Through a fully guided, full body meditation that engages breath work, visualisation, body scans and techniques that soothe the nervous system, Yoga Nidra provides the perfect balance between rest and expanding your awareness, to create harmony between the body, mind, and soul.

Sound Healing works with the principle of resonance, the idea that everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration, including our physical bodies. Using various sound-producing instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes, Sound Healing creates specific frequencies that resonate with the body’s natural energy centres, or chakras, allowing tension to melt away so we feel relaxed, replenished and reset from a cellular level.

Physical and Psychological Benefits of Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing

The potent combination of Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing promotes vast physical and mental benefits, including:

1. Stress Reduction: By guiding the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation, Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing can effectively relieve stress and anxiety on both a mental and physical level.

2. Improved Sleep Quality: The calming influence of these practices has been shown to promote better sleep, combatting insomnia and increasing overall sleep quality.

3. Enhanced Immune System: As the body enters a deeply relaxed state, the immune system is supported, giving it the opportunity to function optimally and promoting overall health and well-being.

4. Balanced Energy Levels: Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing work together to balance the body’s energy systems, promoting a sense of vitality and rejuvenation.

5. Increased Self-Awareness and Intuition: By entering a state of heightened awareness and connecting with one’s inner self, these practices can foster a deeper understanding of personal truths, desires, and beliefs, ultimately leading to self-transformation.
