Discover the best of Donegal's exquisite coast line with an unforgettable retreat with Emma Rose Lowe + Carla McGreevy.

Friday 14th - 16th October 2022

Escape the hustle and immerse yourself in the west coast of Ireland’s awe-inspiring scenery, finding peace, presence and simple pleasures through yoga, breathwork and ritual while nourishing the senses, indulging in good food, great company and a restoring costal experience at the Celtic Festival of Samhain.

Do you feel you get caught up in life and find it difficult to take time to slow down and enjoy the simple things?

This is your reminder that you are worth taking care over. You deserve to take time just for you. You are allowed to have and hold your boundaries and don’t actually have to check your emails, be constantly available to others, or rush to the next thing.

This Irish Women’s Wellbeing Event is designed with you in mind to support you to slow down, relax and unwind. You will eat delicious and nourishing food, make friends, belly laugh and leave feeling refreshed and reconnected to the things that really matter; your body, your breath and nature.

No prior experience is required. All you need is a willingness to make time for yourself to recharge and restore.

Picture this:

Fresh sheets in a bed you didn’t have to make.

Waking up well rested, with no hangover and having the luxury to lingering a little longer. You can choose to watch the sunrise over the Wild Atlantic or take a plunge into her healing waters with a wild sea swimming experience.

Join in with a variety of yoga, self care and ritual practices with leading experts or take alone time by the fire or in the hot tub. Venture into the wilds and immerse yourself in the peaceful sound of nature and silence without the tug of life’s usual demand, connect to other kindred spirits over cosy fireside chats or let your body be pampered by our retreat team massage therapist.

There will be space and quiet for you to cherish that first sip of coffee in the morning and seriously revitalising seasonal food served to you and you can walk away from the dishes without any guilt.

We encourage you to drop out of the head and into the heart this weekend and come back home to you.

The Simple Pleasures Retreat Ireland includes;

  • 2 nights accommodation in a stunning, spacious retreat centre in County Donegal that boasts an outdoor firepit, hot tub and sea views

  • Revitalising food: You will be nurtured with meals that are rich in nutrition and taste, catered by the incredible team at The Cultured Club. All meals will be wholesomely made from fresh, sustainable, local produce to fuel your body with what it needs to feel good from the inside. This will include a welcome reception with the Cultured Club’s signature fabulously funky fermented tipples and a sit down meal. Saturday and Sunday sit down brunch, and a special sit down evening meal. Snacks and drinks will be available throughout the day.

  • Morning yoga and wild water dips: Sunrise connects us to hope, and reminds us how beautiful beginnings can be. Sunrise and sunset are sacred times of the day for you to connect to yourself when the veil between the two worlds is the thinnest. Just as nature transforms, it is a powerful time for you to do the same. Our yoga practice will be designed to release stored emotions, tension and stagnant energy. Followed up by all the incredible benefits of sea dipping.

  • Restorative Yoga Therapy for Women: A gentle yoga therapy practice that invites you to slow down. Nurture the mind and body, resolve pain, reduce stress and anxiety and can tap into spiritual insights. Yoga Therapy promotes the flow of blood and energy into the specific endocrine glands and organs that play a key role in Women’s hormonal balance, whilst also reconnecting us to the more feminine aspects of our 'being' nature, inherent in embodying, feeling, sensing and intuiting on the mat. The ultimate decompress and rest.

  • Yoga Nidra: Emma has specialised for many years in the art of Yogic Sleep having first accessed the practice 18 years ago. Yoga Nidra is a guided, meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental and emotional relaxation and restoration. It is said to be like mindfulness on steroids with one practice being the equivalent restoration as three hours of good sleep.

  • Breathwork: Every inhale nourishes every cell in the body and exhale releases waste. We now know it does this on a psychological plane as well as a physiology one. Breathwork is profoundly healing for body and mind. The breath knows exactly what to do to bring us into balance for optimum health. In our breathwork we will practice Connected Mandala breath. This is relaxed breathwork where we give space and surrender to the intelligence of the body to release what it needs to.

  • Cacao ceremony: A centuries-old ritual and the ultimate heart-opener. In addition to being a superfood packed full of vitamins and minerals, cacao supports the cardiovascular system and is a natural antioxidant and antidepressant.  This is a beautiful practice to drop out of the head and into the heart.

  • Women’s circles: Experience the art of sharing and receiving within a small group of women from a heart centred, non judgemental space to make deep and lasting friendships. Practising taking up space, being heard and listening.

  • Goddess Ritual: Our top secret pleasure sauce for the weekend. Sorry, not sorry, ladies, this workshop of indulgence is something you simply have to experience.

Anna Lyttle, retreat assistant

Hi my name is Anna, I have been practicing yoga since I was 16, initially to get me a little closer to my dream of being a professional circus performer…. That didn’t happen. Along the way it became one of the most consistent aspects of my life. Connecting with people, our community, everywhere we go, is the essence of life for me. Isn’t that what we as humans are supposed to do? Yoga is about connecting to something much greater than ourselves- community, our higher self, our spirituality, nature, the world.

I have found so much peace in the rhythm of collective movement and the rhythm of my body. It will be a privilege to assist you and learn alongside you at this weekend. To be at your service is yoga.

Megan McCrea, massage therapist and retreat assistant

Megan is the founder of Ambi Massage and passionate about the power of bodywork and yoga.

She is a qualified massage therapist and yoga teacher. Megan will help you centre, focus and rejuvenate, with combining Swedish massage with advanced deep tissue techniques and trigger point therapy. She uses breathing and other practices to help connect you to your body and promote wellbeing and healing.

Megan believes massage and yoga can help us reach a much greater understanding of our mind, body and spirit.

Megan will be available throughout the weekend for you to directly book in with her for bodywork. Please note this is not included within the retreat cost.

What People Are Saying

“Carla’s and Emma’s retreats are a big warm welcome and offer a wide variety of experiences and techniques to help you nourish body, mind & soul. Emma & Carla make everything accessible, regardless of your level of experience.  They are passionate about what they teach & take very good care of you. They attract a great group of women & there are alot of great chats & laughs over the weekend. If you are in any way tempted, I’d recommend it!”

— Niamh, Dublin

“This was my first women’s only retreat and it was a revelation. The love, kindness and sisterhood vibes were just what I needed. It was wonderful to have Carla (pure sweetness and love) and Emma (Mother Earth and nurturing) hosting. They gave us a safe space to laugh, shout, stretch, breathe, cry, share, listen, relate, admire and just be. I would highly recommend you step out of the rat race and get back to your true self on one of these retreats. Fantastic Females, Fabulous Food and Frozen feet (Irish Sea). Couldn’t have asked for more.”

— Aoife, Belfast

“I left feeling so much more grounded in my body and mind and thankfully I've been able to keep that feeling long after the retreat has ended and I've no doubt it's because of the practices you taught. It was my first retreat and honestly couldn't have been better. You're both great at what you do and your passion for what you teach is infectious, I left feeling really motivated as a result! Can't wait for the next one”.

— Kate, Belfast
